Crypto marketing compliance services, compared.

Five categories of provider will offer to look at your crypto marketing before it ships. They do not do the same job, they do not cost the same, and only one of them can lawfully approve a UK financial promotion. This page compares the categories, not the brands — and tells you which one we are.

// DISCLOSURE · WE ARE IN THIS COMPARISON

NorthPoint is our own service. We’ve included it and said so — judge the comparison accordingly. This page is published by NorthPoint Marketing Solutions Oy, and one of the options described below is ours. We have not ranked ourselves first, we do not claim to be “best”, and we state plainly what our own service does not do. Every statement about anyone else here is either sourced and dated, or describes a category rather than making a claim about a named firm. Our standing view on self-published rankings is on the record: when the agencies write their own rankings →

// 01 · WHAT THIS PAGE COMPARES

Categories, not brand rankings.

Most “top crypto compliance agencies” pages rank named firms against each other. We have deliberately not done that, for one reason: we cannot verify the service scope, turnaround, staffing or pricing of another firm to a standard we would be willing to defend, and a compliance domain is the worst possible place to publish an unverifiable claim about someone else. A shorter honest page beats a longer invented one.

So the unit of comparison here is the category of provider. Within each category the strengths and the limits are structural — they follow from what the provider is, not from how good a particular firm is. Once you know which category you need, finding named firms inside it is easy, and the official registers linked further down are the right place to start.

// 02 · THE FIVE CATEGORIES

Who does what, and what they will not do.

CategoryWhat it deliversWhat it will not doTypical cost shape
Law firm
Regulatory / financial-services practice
A legal opinion on how a regime applies to your product, entity and market. Privilege. A named partner who will stand behind the analysis. Go through a landing page, an ad set and a KOL brief line by line at campaign speed. That is production-rate work, not partner-hours work. Hourly or fixed fee per matter
Compliance consultancy
Regulatory / RegTech advisory
Policy, process and the control framework: who signs off what, in what order, with what record. Authorisation support. Usually not marketing craft. A control framework tells you an asset must be reviewed; it does not tell you how to rewrite the headline so it still sells. Monthly retainer or project
Crypto marketing agency with a compliance add-on Production and distribution, with a compliance step attached to the work it produces. Review its own output at arm’s length. Check whether marketing-compliance review is actually on the published service list before assuming it is included. Monthly retainer
Specialist marketing-compliance operator
← NorthPoint is here
Per-asset review of finished marketing against a stated rule set, with the triggered line quoted back and a concrete rewrite. Operator-grade, at campaign speed. Give legal advice, approve a financial promotion, or certify that anything is compliant. See “what we do not do” below. Per asset, or monthly
In-house team plus tooling Fastest loop, full context, no external dependency. The only option that scales with shipping volume at no marginal cost per asset. Provide independence. A team reviewing copy it wrote, against rules it also interpreted, has no second pair of eyes. Headcount plus tool licences

Cost shapes describe how each category typically bills, not a market rate. We have not published a price range for any category we do not operate in, because we have no sourced figure for one.

// 03 · MARKET CONTEXT

What the surrounding market costs.

Marketing-compliance review is bought next to the marketing spend it protects, so the adjacent numbers are the useful context. Two of these are published by other people; two are in the regulatory record.

// PUBLISHED AGENCY ANCHOR
$15,000–$30,000+ per month

Coinbound, a crypto marketing agency, states on its own site: “Most crypto public relations firms start between $15,000–$30,000+ per month.” Source: coinbound.io, page last updated 5 June 2026, read 29 July 2026.

// PUBLISHED DISTRIBUTION ANCHOR
From $99 per publisher

The same page states that Coinscribble press-release packages “start at $99 for smaller publishers and go up to several thousand dollars per publisher for the largest crypto media” — the low end of the same market. Same source and date as above.

// THE REGULATORY CEILING
Up to 12.5% of annual turnover

MiCA sets administrative fines for the most serious infringements at up to €15 million or 12.5% of total annual turnover (Article 111). The authorisation math and the penalty range →

// THE UK PRECEDENT
HTX, February 2026

The FCA’s February 2026 High Court action involving HTX, an offshore exchange whose promotions reached UK consumers, is the working example that reach into the UK matters more than where the entity sits. Section 21 and the three lawful gateways →

We publish our own prices rather than quoting on request: a single audit at €49, the Self-Audit Suite at €199 per month, and a done-for-you Launch Audit from €1,500. Those numbers sit inside the market context above, which is the honest reason to show you the context. It does not follow that a €49 audit substitutes for a $20,000 retainer; they buy different things.

// 04 · WHAT TO ASK

Seven questions that separate the categories.

// ASK EVERY PROVIDER, INCLUDING US

If the answers are vague, that is the answer.

  • Which rule set are you assessing against, and can I read it? A review against an unpublished, unnamed standard cannot be checked or disputed.
  • Do you quote the triggered line back to me? A verdict without the offending text is not actionable.
  • Do you give me a rewrite, or an instruction to “seek advice”? Drafted copy is the difference between a finding and a fix.
  • Are you giving legal advice? If yes, is it privileged, and who signs it? If no, say so plainly — we do.
  • Can you approve a UK financial promotion? Only an FCA-authorised firm holding the approver permission can. Most providers cannot, and should tell you so.
  • What is your turnaround against my launch date? Partner hours and campaign speed are different clocks.
  • What do you refuse to do? A provider that claims to cover everything has not thought about its own limits.
// 05 · WHERE NORTHPOINT FITS — DISCLOSED

One category, stated limits.

Disclosure: this is the section about our own service, on our own page. NorthPoint is a specialist marketing-compliance operator. We review finished crypto marketing — landing pages, ads, emails, X posts, KOL briefs — against published MiCA, FCA and GDPR rule packs, quote the triggered line back, and hand you a rewrite. It is operator-grade work delivered at the speed marketing actually ships.

// WHAT WE DO

Per-asset review, published rules.

  • Free checks — a public 5-rule version of each pack, no signup. Run one →
  • Single audit — €49 — one asset, one full pack.
  • Self-Audit Suite — €199/mo — MiCA, FCA and GDPR packs, unlimited assets. See the suite →
  • Launch Audit — from €1,500 — a signed, done-for-you review of a whole asset set. See the tiers →
// WHAT WE DO NOT DO

The list we would want to read.

  • We do not give legal advice. Everything we publish and deliver is information. For a binding view, retain counsel.
  • We do not approve financial promotions. We are not an FCA-authorised approver. What approval actually means →
  • We do not certify or guarantee compliance. We say “checked”, never “compliant”, and we do not promise a regulatory outcome.
  • We do not do AML, KYC, transaction monitoring or licensing. Different discipline, different providers.
  • We do not rank named competitors. Including on this page.

Buyer questions.

Who actually reviews crypto marketing before it goes live?

In practice five different kinds of provider do some part of this job, and they are not substitutes for one another: a law firm gives a legal opinion on the regime; a compliance consultancy builds the policy and the process; a crypto marketing agency may offer a compliance add-on alongside production; a specialist marketing-compliance operator reviews the finished asset line by line; and an in-house team runs the review itself with tooling. Which one you need depends on whether you want an opinion, a process, or a per-asset verdict before a launch date. This is general information, not legal advice.

What does a marketing-compliance review cost?

Cost shape varies by category rather than being a single market rate. Law firms typically bill hourly or fixed-fee per matter; consultancies and agencies typically bill a monthly retainer; per-asset review can be bought one asset at a time. For market context on adjacent crypto marketing spend, Coinbound, a crypto marketing agency, states on its own site that most crypto public relations firms start between $15,000 and $30,000+ per month. NorthPoint publishes its own prices: a single audit at 49 euros, the Self-Audit Suite at 199 euros per month, and a done-for-you Launch Audit from 1,500 euros.

Is NorthPoint included in this comparison?

Yes, and we say so on the page. NorthPoint is our own service and it appears in the specialist marketing-compliance operator category. We have not ranked ourselves first and we do not claim to be best. We also state what we do not do: we do not give legal advice, we do not approve financial promotions, and we do not certify compliance.

Can any provider guarantee that a campaign is compliant?

No. No adviser, consultancy, agency or tool can guarantee a regulatory outcome, and any provider promising one is offering something they cannot deliver. What a good provider can do is identify likely breaches against a stated rule set, show the reasoning, and give you a concrete rewrite. In the UK a promotion can be lawfully approved by an FCA-authorised firm holding the approver permission, which is a narrower and more specific thing than a compliance guarantee.

This page is general information about how marketing-compliance work is bought and who performs it. It is not legal advice, not a recommendation of any named firm, and not a determination that any provider, tool or approach will satisfy a regulator. Descriptions of third parties are limited to what is publicly published by them, sourced and dated where a figure is quoted; nothing here is a review, rating or endorsement.
